Exploring West Texas by Air

History is filled with stories of explorers heading west. Chasing the sun, seeking space, setting out into the great unknown. West Texas is not unknown, of course, but vast open spaces and big skies create an unmistakeable sense that you’re very far away from it all.

We set out in a Cirrus SR-22 to fly around West Texas and stop in our a few of our favorite places – including Marfa, Balmorhea Springs, and Big Bend. Continue Reading…

Azores, Portugal

The Azores is an archipelago made up of 9 islands clustered in the middle of the Atlantic between the US and Europe. It also served as the best “layover” ever after spending a week in Portugal. The flight from Lisbon to the Azores was about 4 hours and after a few days exploring the island it was just another 4 hour flight to get back to the states.

Spectacle Island, Nova Scotia

We headed to Nova Scotia last weekend for a much anticipated escape to cooler temps and an island state of mind. Our trip was inspired by the invitation of our friend – an incredibly talented resort designer with an ever-present sparkle of delight in his eyes. He has an amazing ability to create spaces that are simultaneously captivating and inspiring, relaxing and energizing, sensual and thoughtful, evolving and whole. Some of our favorite destinations around the world have included his creations so we were excited to spend time together with our friend on his private island in Nova Scotia that has become his haven and playground.
